Day 4
Le Bourguignon➜ Tsutaya bookstore 六本木蔦屋書店➜ Blue Bottle Cafe➜ Asakusa 淺草➜ hang out with 閔隆桑
Le Bourguignon
Tokyo is an international big city where gathers all gourment from the world. Apart from tasting local food I also wanted to try michelin-starred restaurants. After checking the michelin guide, I picked a one michelin star french restaurant called Le Bourguignon in Roppongi. They got a great review on google map and tablelog so I asked my friend to make a reservation for me. :)
When we finally got to the restaurant, we loved the place immediately. It's a small but sweet family styled restaurant with about 20 seats. They have an affordable lunch menu that we both chose 4,500 set meal including fish and meat, only the menu is in Japanese and French. 😂😂😂 The waiter tried his best to help us but we could hardly understand his English. I still have no idea what I had ordered for my main course haha. Luckily all the crusine was great and we had a wonderful time. I even saw a few table has only one customer coming for their crusine.
Great service, nice ambiance and spetacular food! I highly recommend it 😊

the lunch (a set with 2 glasses of wine for each of us) costed 16869 (NT4500) which was a great deal!
After lunch we stopped by Tsutaya bookstore where combines a coffee shop with books, and we also went to Blue Bottle for grabbing a coffee. Blue bottle is a coffee brand from Cali and it has gained popularity in the States and Asia. The price is aroun 500 yen for a cup of coffee, a bit pricy in my opinion. Rumor has it that they're gonna open one in Taipei very soon.
All in all, I liked Roppongi a lot. It's a nice area to walk around.
Next, we went to Asakusa 淺草 temple where it's a must-see attraction too!
Landmark-The entrance 雷門.
I drew a fortune stick to try my luck haha! it's a good one saying if I overcome the difficulties, the fortune would come to me. Let's hope!
Filled with locals and tourists, we paid a quick visit and left.
Saw MariCARs on the street! This is tooooooo cute!!! I'd like to play this next time!!
Asahi beer tower and Tokyo Skytree.
For the last dinner in Tokyo, we stayed with Sushi. Walked in a random sushi restaurant in shinjuku and the food was great!
Last but not least, I finally got to see 閔隆桑 before I left tokyo. We've known each other since my freshman year in college!! He is currently studying in Tokyo for his Dr. degree and he helped us a lot during this trip to make reservations with restaurants.
閔隆桑 took us to a bar restaurant 居酒屋 where he said its an authentic one. Not only we had some yummy dished with beers but also we tried japanese shochu (燒酒) !!
It was a wonderful night and so great to catch up with 閔隆桑 and I got him a big box of snacks from Taiwan :)
Day 5
It started to snow when we left hotel. It was a perfect time to go back to Taiwan. (After we took off from Tokyo, there was a big snow storm that all the flights got canceled right afterwards....we were soooo lucky!!)
I really had a good time for this bday trip! Had great food and hung out with old friends! The best birthday ever! See you next time :)
